/01Data minimization
What our database does NOT hold
The best proof of privacy is what is never stored in the first place. None of this sits in plaintext on our server.
Your messages in plaintext
Every message is encrypted on your device (X3DH and Double Ratchet, forward secrecy). Only ciphertext lives on the server; no one can read it, not even us.
Who is messaging you
The sender of a message is not in the database either. It travels encrypted inside the package; only the recipient is stored, so the message can be delivered.
Who is friends with whom
Your contact list only exists as a client-encrypted bundle on the server. Accepted friendships are not visible there as a readable connection.
Who sends you a request
The sender of a friend request is encrypted anonymously against your key. The database holds no plaintext link “X wants to be friends with Y”.
Who is in a group with whom
Group members are stored only as pseudonyms. Without the server's key, the database does not reveal who is in which group.
Your password
The server only knows an argon2 hash of a separate login token, never your password and never the key used to decrypt.
Your phone number or real identity
All you need is a username of your choice. No mobile number, no mandatory email, no real name.
For delivery the server needs the recipient's username at runtime and briefly holds not-yet-fetched messages, encrypted, deleted after delivery or after 14 days at the latest. What remains in the stored database is no readable connection between two users. Our principle: as little as possible.

Your key is born on your device
A strong key is computed locally from your password. It never leaves your device.
Encryption happens at your end, not on the wire
X3DH and Double Ratchet encrypt each message individually before it ever reaches the server.
Only your contact can decrypt
The server passes on ciphertext only. The message becomes readable solely on the target device.

Group chats, secured
Encrypted groups with admin roles and member management. Each group message is encrypted individually for every member.
Account locked down
Two-factor, a passkey with Face ID or fingerprint, and an app lock. Your data key is sealed inside your device's security chip, not with us.
Web app for Android & iOS
Runs straight in the browser – nothing from a store needed. Via “Add to Home Screen” it becomes a full app with notifications.
